Industry Day
Welcome to the Biomedical Industry Day, a dynamic event where Biomedical Engineering students meet their future careers! This highly anticipated day brings together master’s students and leading companies in a vibrant atmosphere of knowledge sharing, networking, and collaboration.
On this day, the Therminal in Ghent is transformed into a lively job fair with more than 10 companies active in the field of Biomedical Engineering. Each company has its own booth, showcasing its activities, innovations, and opportunities. Students can get to know the companies in an informal way, discovering what the professional life of a Biomedical Engineer looks like.
Participating companies will also present job opportunities to second-year master’s students and internship opportunities to third-year bachelor’s and first-year master’s students, offering a unique chance for students to take the first step towards their future careers.
In addition to the job fair, 1-on-1 interviews between company representatives and second-year master’s students are organized, giving both students and companies the chance to engage in meaningful discussions that may lead to concrete opportunities in the workplace. Interactive workshops run throughout the day, hosted by the participating companies, on topics such as improving social skills, solving consulting cases, writing a strong CV, or showcasing a company’s innovative products.
The audience for this event is diverse and includes not only students but also faculty staff, professors, and representatives from various companies, making it a true meeting point for academia and industry.
In summary, Industry Day serves as a bridge between academia and industry, fostering collaboration, innovation, and mutual growth. It is an occasion where bright minds and forward-thinking companies converge, creating an environment conducive to exploration, discovery, and the forging of connections that extend far beyond the event itself.
